Thoughts for Living Productively
Can you find ways to increase success?

The world is changing at such a rapid rate that waiting to implement changes will leave you two steps behind. DO IT NOW, DO IT NOW, DO IT NOW!

I was recently shopping at an athletic apparel store,* and when I returned home I discovered that they had inserted within my package a legal sized sheet of motivational sayings, which included the one above.

As I skimmed through these, I was struck by how many of them related to topics I have addressed in articles, blog posts, and my time management seminars. While my topics focus directly on business issues, along with life balance, this company's selection shows how all aspects of our lives are intertwined.

I am sharing some of their collection to reinforce our need for time management systems and processes that help us reduce multitasking, limit the interruptions in our days, cut back on stress, and increase daily productivity.

  • The conscious brain can only hold one thought at a time. Choose a positive thought.

  • Creativity is maximized when you are living in the moment.

  • Stress is related to 99% of all illness.

  • Mediocrity is as close to the bottom as it is to the top.

  • That which matters most should never give way to that which matters least.

  • Successful people replace the words "wish", "should" and "try" with "I WILL".

  • A daily hit of athletic-induced endorphins gives you the power to make better decisions, helps you be at peace with yourself, and offsets stress.

  • Listen, listen, listen, and then ask strategic questions.

  • Communication is complicated. We are all raised in a different family with slightly different definitions of every word. An agreement is only an agreement if each party knows the conditions for satisfaction and a time is set for satisfaction to occur.

  • Do one thing a day that scares you.

  • Life is full of setbacks. Success is determined by how you handle them.

  • Write down your short and long-term goals four times a year. Goal setting triggers your subconscious computer.
The above “suggestions” were part of a compilation from Lululemon Athletica.
