I don't feel chained to my devices but I do want access to them once or twice a day. I can pick one block of time each day to deal with email and return phone calls and then shut them off. Knowing that I am in the loop without being chained helps me be more relaxed the rest of the time. I agree with you on that. I personally cannot live without it. I just recently went on a vacation and yes, there was wifi in the hotel. I don't know how happy I would be in a hotel without any sort of digital companion.
