Finding Time for Maximum Fitness

January 20th, 2009 · No Comments

January is Fitness Month, if you can rank it by good intentions.  Resolutions to get in shape abound, and gym memberships swell.  This past fall Maximum Fitness for Men magazine interviewed me for an article called “Take Back the Power,”  and Time Management, my topic, was one of the ways you regained that control.

The following is an excerpt from the article (Oct/Nov. 2008 by Dear Brierly).

One of the ironies of our multitasking culture is that we never seem to have enough time to accomplish everything we need to get done.  Fortunately, Denise Landers, founder and CEO of Key Organization Systems, can help make the clock work for you, not against you.  “Set your goals for the week and concentrate your energy on activities that are geared to achieving those goals,” she says.  ”You also need to block out time each individual day because if it’s not written on your calendar, it won’t happen….”

This is the perfect time to develop that habit.

  • When are you going to exercise each day?
  • Is it written into your calendar?

Other areas that were included in the article for taking back that power or control related to exercise, eating, mood mastery, cellphone anxiety, nicotine, noise, and anger issues.  Read the full article for more details.

The payback is increased energy, improved sleep, and increased productivity, along with a big boost in self-esteem.  It’s a win-win proposition, so, as Nike says, “Just Do It!”
